Community Life
The Activity Department provides a range of programs to meet the physical, intellectual, spiritual, social and emotional needs of the residents. A calendar of events is posted and distributed around the Home monthly, which allows residents and their families to know what activities will be offered. Family Participation is encouraged in all programs.
We focus on living and creating experiences for our residents. In addition to our excellent care, our Experienced Team and Dining Team create excellent events. All of these daily, weekly & seasonal events contribute to our resident’s enjoyment and health through physical, mental, and memory stimulation. A few events include:
- Fun & Fitness
- Valentine’s Day Dinner
- Christmas Day Turkey
- Canada Day celebrations
- Mother and Father’s Day meals
The Activity Department at different times through the year takes residents on various outings. Residents appreciate and look forward to these experiences.
Volunteers help make Garden Home a great place to live. Should you or someone in your family be interested in volunteering at Garden Home please contact our Activity Director.
Religious Services
A chapel service is held twice weekly (one service being Protestant and the other Catholic). Attendance is by choice of the resident. Residents of all faiths enjoy freedom of worship in the Home.
Resident Council
Resident council provides residents with an opportunity to contribute in the operation of the Home and to share their opinions regarding the services provided by Garden Home. Resident Council meetings are held monthly. The meeting is open to all residents.
Family Council
The committee is the joint participation of families and management of Garden Home cooperatively working together. The committee’s role is to make recommendations/suggestions to management of Garden Home. The committee provides a link between families and management. This encourages the people who know most about the work to give input about and receive feedback on the environment.
